PRE LESSON CONSULTATION

PRE LESSON CONSULTATION

PRE LESSON CONSULTATION

Our Free Pre Lesson Consultation allows you to meet the teacher and get a sneak peak at what IPS offers.  In this one on one meeting, we will go over the curriculum, the policies and requirements, and we will also discuss any goals that you may have for you or your child.  IPS is all about bringing out the best in each student, so this meeting will allow Ms Alicia and you as the parent or student to create a plan together to make this journey not only fun but successful.

EXPECTATIONS

It's very important to  understand that music is a “foreign language” that takes time to learn. Patience and dedication are required to become fluent in the language of music.

What to expect from your instructor:

 - Quality lessons given by a trained and experienced teacher who's also a professional working musician.

 - Weekly private lessons that focus on fundamentals and technique as well as fostering a love for playing the instrument.

 - Organized and detailed practice assignments after each lesson.

 - Direct and open communication

What is expected of parents and students:

 - Parents are expected to encourage their child along this journey. Encouragement through positive words helps to fuel a child’s drive to succeed.

 - Students are expected to listen to music daily, even if only in the background.

  - Parents and students are expected to establish a realistic practice routine during the week. This includes reading and completing the assignments given by Ms. Alicia. (You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish with 3-5 days of practice per week!)

 -  Students must display a desire to learn

 - Students must be able to respectfully interact with others.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Registration is simple and done online.

NEW FAMILIES:  Fill out the registration form (https://innovativepiano.cc/registration )  Once you've filled out this form email info@innovativepiano.cc and allow 48 business hours for a response.  There is a registration, books, and materials fee due  with your first month's tuition.

CURRENT FAMILIES: Contact Ms Alicia directly to schedule your session.

HOW DOES TUITION & LESSONS WORK?

You will pay one flat rate fee every month depending on which time slot you choose.  Your lesson book and any additional repertoire is included in your annual registration, books, and material fee.

IPS is also a year-round school. There is time off during the session to allow for major holidays and vacations. The summer sessions are strongly recommended to keep the student progressing.  Also, the only way to guarantee your preferred time slot for fall is to take the summer session.

HOW DO I PAY TUITION? WHEN IS IT DUE?

Tuition may be paid directly through the monthly invoice, Venmo, Zelle, or with credit/debit card or cash.  The tuition is due by the last day of  the month. Please also note: A late fee will occur for a payment that is not paid by the due date  Also, if the tuition goes unpaid by top of the new month, a student will no longer be able to receive a lesson until the balance is satisfied.  There are system reminders of late payments which my website will auto-generate.   Invoices are sent out  around the 20th of each month and late reminders are sent out by the system.

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL FEES?

Yes!  The annual registration, books, and material fee is due before the start of each  year, which for IPS begins around mid to late August of each year.  This fee must be paid to lock in your desired day/time that you want for lessons. If your books are lost or stolen,  you will be invoiced for the replacement book/music binder/sheet music.  There is also a Recital Fee of $50.00 that is due prior to whichever recital you/your chid will participate in.

ARE THERE MAKEUP LESSONS?

Makeup lessons are scheduled according to the studio’s availability. It is IPS goal to set aside time that will be dedicated for make up lessons. Please be mindful makeup lessons aren’t guaranteed. A lesson has been reserved for you each week. Notification of inability to attend a lesson is a courtesy to me, but does not excuse tuition payment. Should IPS have to cancel lesson due to weather or any other issues, you will be contacted by email, phone, or text.  We will credit your account for the lessons that we cannot provide due to teacher cancellation and tuition amount will be adjusted accordingly. However, if a sickness or need to miss a session does arise, we do ask that you give me a notice as possible.

HOW SICK IS "SICK"?

If you have the following symptoms or have been around someone exposed to these symptoms within a 48-hour time frame, please DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO:

• Vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Fever

• Uncontrollable coughing/sneezing

WHAT IF I DECIDE TO WITHDRAW FROM LESSONS?

Students who wish to withdraw from Innovative Piano Studio must provide  notice directly to Ms Alicia.  All payments received are final.  Refunds are not given for early withdrawal!

ARE RECITALS MANDATORY?

The recitals are not mandatory, however strongly encouraged.  Ms Alicia will assess each student and determine what they may be prepared for.  Participation in these events helps the student in so many ways, even beyond musical growth.  The key in all of these events is: Practice!

WHAT DAYS OFF DOES IPS OBSERVE?

IPS will not be offering lessons on the following holidays:

Labor Day, Thanksgiving ,Christmas/New Year,  MLK Day,  Memorial Day, and Independence Day

All other breaks will be notated on the calendar that's posted in the BAND APP and on our website.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read the FAQ section!  Though there are some guidelines, remember, this journey is about fun and enjoyment!  What a blessing it is to have wonderful families like you! Registered students will be notified of any policy updates that may take place.
