I equip each student with a well-rounded music education that includes:
• Music Theory
• Notation Identification
• Accompaniment styles
• Duets/ Ensembles
• Practice Habits
• Performance Preparation
• Audition Preparation
This style of music education gives them the tools they need to study multiple instruments, join the choir at school, audition for musicals, and strengthen their skills for playing in the school band/orchestra, A wide variety of repertoire is used based on the individuals needs, goals, and style of music they wish to study. I use several different types of method books for the beginner, supplemental music, Classical music, Blues, Jazz, Church Songs, Traditional Songs, and more!
It’s never too early or late to get started on your musical journey! Take a look at the lessons Innovative provide and choose the right one for you.
What does my tuition pay for?
A lot goes into a music studio behind the scenes. Beside the obvious time-spent teaching, here are a few other areas which the tuition covers:
• Personal time spent planning personalized lessons for each student, each week for each class.
• The amount of time spent answering texts messages per week, emails, and phone calls at all hours of the day
• Hours spent of personal time researching new music and methods to keep the studio fresh and on the cutting edge
• Time spent doing my accounting, advertising, and business management
• The hours of my personal time spent in devotion to continuing education, research, training, meetings, and more.
• Time spent practicing accompanying musical pieces to play with each student
• Annual fees for the professional organizations I am a part of in order to offer my students memberships and participation in the nation's most recognized programs
• My expertise and experience in my field, the training, the education, the knowledge, the skill level, my resume, and my overall reputation as a music educator and performer
• Office and technology fees and any Studio overhead incurred
How does tuition work?
IPS is a year-round school. The academic school year makes up one session. The summer makes up the other session. The student is billed for 42 weeks of lessons that is split up over 12 months. There is time off during the session to allow for major holidays and vacations for both Ms. Alicia and the student and 2 weeks of flex time into my academic session to be used at Ms Alicia’s discretion as needed. The summer sessions are strongly recommended to keep the student progressing. Also, the only way to guarantee your preferred time slot for fall is to take the summer session.
How do I pay tuition? When is it due?
Tuition may be paid directly through the website (via your Parent/Student portal), Venmo, CashApp, or in person with credit/debit card or cash.
The tuition is due by the 25th of the previous month during the academic session. Summer session may be paid in one lump sum or on the 25th of the previous month. Please also note: A late fee will occur for a payment that is not paid by the due date Also, if the tuition goes unpaid by end of the month, a student will no longer be able to receive a lesson until the balance is satisfied. There are system reminders of late payments which my website will auto-generate. Invoices are sent out on the 10th of each month and late reminders sent out by the system.
Are there additional fees?
Yes! There is an annual registration fee for every student. An annual registration fee of $25 per student needs to be paid to hold your requested lesson time every year. Your registration fee reserves your spot and I take that time off the market and make it unavailable to other families. This fee also helps cover expenses such as practice prizes and copy prints throughout the year. This Registration fee is due by August 25th. There is also a Recital Fee of $30.00 due in Nov and April to Cover the Winter and Spring Recital. Books and repertoire are all included in your monthly tuition.
Are there makeup lessons?
Makeup lessons are scheduled according to the studio’s availability. It is IPS goal to set aside1-2 days a month that will be dedicated for make up lessons. You will be given this schedule at the beginning of each month. Even with this adjustment, please be mindful makeup lessons aren’t guaranteed. A lesson has been reserved for you each week. Notification of inability to attend a lesson is a courtesy to me, but does not excuse tuition payment. Should I have to cancel lesson due to weather or any other issues, you will be contacted by email, phone, or text. Innovative Piano Studio will credit your account for the lessons that I cannot provide due to teacher cancellation and tuition amount will be adjusted accordingly. However, if a sickness or need to miss a session does arise, I do ask that you give me a notice as possible.
How sick is "sick?"
If you have the following symptoms or have been exposed to these symptoms within a 48-hour time frame, please DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO:
• Uncontrollable coughing/sneezing
I will be happy reschedule the lesson for you during one of the make up times that are available for that particular month.
How do I register?
Registration is simple and done online.
NEW FAMILIES: Fill out the registration form (https://innovativepiano.cc/registration ) Once you've filled out this form please schedule a pre lesson consultation. If your desired time isn't available email firstname.lastname@example.org and give Ms Alicia 48 hours to respond.
CURRENT FAMILIES: Contact Ms Alicia directly to schedule your session.
What if I change my mind half way during the session and want to quit?
Students who wish to withdraw from Innovative Piano Studio must provide a 30-day written notice. Tuition must still be paid for the following month. For example: If a student wishes to withdraw in December, the written notice must be received by November 1st. November is paid for and the lessons will continue until December 1st.
Are recitals mandatory?
The recitals are not mandatory, however strongly encouraged. I will assess each student and determine what they may be prepared for. Participation in these events helps the student in so many ways, even beyond musical growth. The key in all of these events is: Practice!
What days off does IPS observe during the school year?
IPS observes Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Weekend (Wed-Saturday), and Winter Break to observe Christmas and New Year's Day. All calendar events will be posted on the home page of the website.
